The Centre of Excellence for the Ulster Cancer Foundation provides purposely designed facilities for the provision of care services for people living with cancer.

This ranges from support, counselling, information services, cancer awareness promotion, fund raising, lobbying and campaigning, and after treatment support.

The UCF had been based on site for a number of years and had a desire to stay at the same location, however the existing premises were found to be unsuitable for adaption to meet their spatial needs.

The development in a Conservation Area includes the retention of the facades of 3 existing Victorian houses and the insertion of a new building arranged around a courtyard behind. That courtyard brings light and air to the rooms and provides a central focus for the internal spaces.

The completed centre has provided the Ulster Cancer Foundation with a first rate facility for the provision of its services. The building is extensively used for a wide range of activities and has been well received by users
