Initially the Client brief was to sub divide an existing supermarket into smaller lettable retail units, however, Dempsey Architects developed alternative ideas to establish and demonstrate the suitability of a new build mixed use scheme incorporating apartments on the site.
This led to an appointment to prepare a scheme design for the submission of a Planning Application on that basis.
The new scheme will add to the regeneration of Ballymena town centre.
The scale and content of the building will inject new life into the run down street while the design will provide a contemporary approach while enhancing the existing town centre fabric.
