The scheme involves the conversion of an existing stone barn with additional houses adjacent.
The feel of the existing farm yard forms the basis of the design concept. The stone barn is converted into three houses with the elevation facing the farmyard kept as is.
New additions are provided to the rear west side of the building to provide additional space. All additions to the barn are of contemporary design using entirely traditional meterials.
Four new dwellings surrounding the barn adoptĀ simple traditional rural forms.
The juxtaposition of the new dwelling to one another and to the retained barn will set out a new interpretation of the existing farm yard.
